- Accessibility
- There are steps at the main entrance. The accessible entrance is through the inner courtyard at Ullanlinnankatu 4; press the doorbell and staff will open the door and escort you to the lobby. The official page lists a lift, an accessible toilet, and a childcare room, but the museum does not have an induction loop.

- Practical notes
- The museum is a short walk from the city centre, and the Johanneksenkirkko tram stop is right in front of the museum. Large bags and backpacks are left in lockable lockers or at the front desk. The quiet Studio space can be used for snacks or breastfeeding, and the café has a high chair and a microwave for young children's food.
- Opening-hours notes
- Official opening hours: Mon 11:00-18:00, Tue 11:00-20:00, Wed-Thu 11:00-16:00, and Fri-Sun 11:00-18:00. Check exceptional opening hours before going, especially around holidays, summer evening openings, and exhibition changes.
- Booking notes
- Booking is usually not needed for a normal museum visit. Guided tours, workshops, walking tours, and group visits are booked separately following the museum's instructions.
- Price notes
- Paid museum. The official page lists tickets as adults €23, seniors and other reduced groups €14, people aged 18-29 €6, children aged 2-17 €3, and Museum Card €0. A combo ticket with an audio guide costs extra.
- Age notes
- Best for children around 6-12 who can look, ask questions, and talk with an adult about architecture and design. Younger children may enjoy a shorter round if the visit focuses on clear shapes, materials, and spaces in the exhibitions.
- Seasonal notes
- Works year-round. Exhibition themes and the most child-engaging parts change, so check the current exhibition content before visiting.
- Weather notes
- A good rainy-day and cold-day option because the museum visit is indoors.
