- Accessibility
- The official page says the accessible entrance with a lift is on the Ateneuminkuja side, and all floors can be reached by lift. - Practical notes
- The museum is right next to the Central Railway Station and Rautatientori. Outdoor clothes, backpacks, and large bags should be left in the free cloakroom or lockers. Eating and drinking are not allowed in the exhibition galleries. The Studio on the second floor works as a break and activity space for all ages.
- Opening-hours notes
- Official opening hours: Tue 10:00–18:00, Wed–Thu 10:00–20:00, Fri 10:00–18:00, Sat–Sun 10:00–17:00, and Monday closed. In July and August the museum is also open on Mondays from 11:00 to 17:00. Ticket sales end 30 minutes before closing. Check exceptional opening hours before going.
- Booking notes
- Booking is usually not needed for a normal museum visit. Tickets can be bought online or at the museum, and free under-18 tickets can be booked through the webshop. Guided tours and groups are booked separately.
- Price notes
- Paid for adults, free for under-18s. The official page lists ticket-office prices as standard admission €23, discounted admission €13, and under-18s €0. Online standard admission is €21. Entry is free with a Museum Card.
- Age notes
- Best for children around 6–12 who can look at images and talk about them with an adult. Younger children may get more from the visit if the exhibition round is kept short and the Studio is included.
- Seasonal notes
- Works year-round. July and August Monday opening differs from the rest of the year.
- Weather notes
- A good rainy-day and cold-day option because the visit is indoors.
