Didrichsen Art Museum is by the sea on Kuusisaari, in the former home of Marie-Louise and Gunnar Didrichsen. Villa Didrichsen, designed by Viljo Revell, was completed as the family home in 1957, and the museum wing for the art collection was completed in 1964. For families, it works as a calm art, architecture, and sculpture stop: indoors there are changing exhibitions and collection displays, while outdoors the seaside sculpture park presents works from the Didrichsen collection. The summer 2026 exhibition William Morris is open 29.5.-30.8.2026.

- Accessibility
- The museum's accessibility was improved during renovation, and the main entrance is wheelchair accessible. An accompanying car can drive to the end of the road about 20 metres from the entrance, and a wheelchair can be borrowed from reception. The main floor is accessible, the lower exhibition halls are reached by lift near the museum shop, the cash desk has an induction loop, and the accessible toilet has a childcare table. The sculpture park and courtyard are outdoors, so weather and outdoor surfaces can affect moving with a stroller.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- The museum is a calm place, so with children the visit works best as a selected route: a few works indoors, a small cafe break, and the sculpture park outside. The courtyard, pier, and sculpture park are open during museum opening hours. Food, drinks, gum, candy, and bags larger than A4 size are not allowed in the exhibition halls.
- Opening-hours notes
- The museum reopened after roof renovation on 29.5.2026. During the summer season, 29.5.-30.8.2026, it is open Tue-Sun 11:00-18:00 and closed on Mondays. Check exceptional opening hours before going, because exhibition changes and renovations can close the museum.
- Booking notes
- A normal exhibition visit does not need pre-booking, and advance tickets are not sold. Groups and guided tours are booked separately with the museum. School groups planning a self-guided visit are asked to check with the museum in advance.
- Price notes
- Adult admission is EUR 17. Reduced admission is EUR 14 for pensioners, teachers, artists, and groups of at least 10, and EUR 10 for students and unemployed visitors. Under-18s enter free, and Museum Card holders enter free.
- Age notes
- Best for children and young people around 6-14 who can look at art, the building, and sculptures with an adult. With younger children, keep the visit short and focus on the sculpture park, the view, the cafe, and a few interesting works.
- Seasonal notes
- The museum operates year-round according to exhibition seasons, but exhibition changes can cause closures. The sculpture park, seaside setting, and cafe terrace are best for families in dry weather and during the summer season.
- Weather notes
- The exhibition spaces work for rainy and cold weather, but the sculpture park, courtyard, and arrival route are outdoors. On hot days, the seaside courtyard and cafe terrace can be a pleasant addition.
