The Worker's Museum is on Kirstinkuja in one of the oldest wooden houses built by the City of Helsinki for its workers. The museum's nine small stove rooms have been furnished as homes from different periods, showing working-class family life from the 1910s to the 1980s. Families can look at objects, furniture, and rooms on a calm round and listen to stories from former residents on their own phone.

- Accessibility
- The official site says the museum is not fully accessible. Suomi.fi accessibility details describe an uneven route, three entrance steps, thresholds over 2 cm, and indoor stairs. The old wooden house and small rooms make the visit difficult with strollers, wheelchairs, or other mobility aids.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- The visit starts at the information desk in stairwell A, where there is also a small museum shop. The museum can be explored independently, and the official site lists free public guided tours in several languages. The rooms are small, so the visit works best as a calm, short round.
- Opening-hours notes
- The official site lists the 2026 season as 15.4.-1.11.2026, Wednesday to Sunday 11:00-17:00. Suomi.fi lists Midsummer exceptions for June 2026, so check exceptional opening hours before going.
- Booking notes
- Booking is not needed for a normal self-guided museum visit. Larger groups and booked guided tours are reserved separately following Helsinki City Museum's instructions.
- Price notes
- Always free entry.
- Age notes
- Best for children around 5-12 who can look at small rooms, notice old objects, and talk with an adult about everyday life in earlier Helsinki. Younger children may enjoy a short round, but this is not primarily a play museum.
- Seasonal notes
- The Worker's Museum is seasonal. In 2026, the museum is open from spring to autumn, and the normal museum visit is not available during the winter season.
- Weather notes
- A good rainy-day option during the museum season because the main round is indoors. In cold or very hot weather, the old building, stairs, and outdoor approach can still affect comfort.
