Haltiala Farm is a popular farm destination for families in northern Helsinki. The new operator's domestic animal yard is free, and families can see animals such as sheep, cows, pigs, hens, horses, alpacas, goats, and ponies. In summer 2026, alpacas and ponies are new animal residents. In addition to the free animal yard and playground, the area has paid activities such as mini golf, a treasure hunt, pony rides, a trampoline park, pedal cars, a yard game field, and a hobby-horse course. The visit can be combined with Haltiala outdoor-area walking routes, a picnic break, and the farm's food services, but the animals may not be visible all the time.

- Accessibility
- The farmyard has a gravel surface. Behind the cafe and rieska pizzeria there are portable toilets, including an accessible toilet. Nappy changing is possible in the accessible toilet and in the cafe. In summer, the animals are in pastures: some roadside pastures can be reached, for example, by wheelchair, but the riverside pastures are not accessible. The sheep barn, which may open occasionally outside the summer season, is not accessible.

- Practical notes
- Only animal keepers may enter the animal pens and outdoor enclosures. Visitors must not feed or tease the animals, and everyone should stay calm near them. Animals may be petted only if they come close themselves. To reduce disease risk, avoid animal contact for 48 hours after foreign travel or visiting another animal farm. Dogs are allowed on a lead in the yard area, but not in pastures, outdoor pens, or forage fields.
- Opening-hours notes
- According to the new operator's site, from 1.6.2026 the farmyard is open 10:00-20:00 and activities 11:00-18:00. The day calendar gives exceptional opening hours, paid-activity times, and the daily programme.
- Booking notes
- A normal visit to the farmyard and animal yard does not require booking. Wristbands and tickets for paid activities are bought from the ticket sales point next to the entrance. Check the day calendar for separate events and the daily programme.
- Price notes
- Entry to the area is free, parking is free, and the animal yard and play area are free. Paid activities can be used with a EUR 15 wristband, a EUR 60 family ticket, or EUR 7 single activity tickets.
- Age notes
- Works especially well for toddlers, preschoolers, and primary-school children interested in animals.
- Seasonal notes
- Animal visibility varies by season and weather. Cows go outdoors all year round, goats go outdoors when weather allows except in midwinter, hens go outdoors from early June to late autumn and spend winter in the sheep barn, and pigs may visit on loan from their home farms in summer.
- Weather notes
- The outing is mostly outdoors. Rain, freezing weather, and muddy conditions can shorten the visit.
