Hertonäs Manor Museum presents the old manor, its residents, and the history of the Herttoniemi manor area. A visit can include museum rooms in the main building, the Baroque park, the English garden, and Knusbacka farmstead. For families, it works as a calm cultural outing where the indoor museum can be combined with the yard, parks, and a self-guided animal-themed eMuseo path.

- Accessibility
- The official guided-tour information says the museum has no elevator and the normal tour starts on the upper floor of the main building before continuing to the lower floor, parks, and Knusbacka. The museum visit is therefore not well suited to strollers, wheelchairs, or other mobility aids. The yard and parks may work partly with a stroller, but old buildings, stairs, outdoor surfaces, and weather affect access.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- On public opening days, the guided tour included in admission goes through the museum, parks, and Knusbacka farmstead. With small children or children who tire quickly, plan the visit as a short museum round and a look around the yard. Restaurant Old Mill is also in the area, but its opening hours and table availability should be checked separately.
- Opening-hours notes
- Public opening is on Sundays from May to September 12:00-14:00, and the guided tour starts at 14:00. In 2026, the season is 3.5.-27.9.2026; the museum is closed on Midsummer Sunday 21.6.2026. From October to April the museum opens only for booked groups.
- Booking notes
- The normal Sunday public guided tour does not require advance booking; admission or Museum Card gives access to the tour. Guided tours can be booked for groups year-round, and a group tour must be cancelled at least 5 days before the booked time.
- Price notes
- Admission is EUR 10 for adults and EUR 5 for children over 10. The official price list does not separately confirm the price for under-10s, so check it with the museum before going. Museum Card is accepted.
- Age notes
- Best for children around 6-12 who are interested in old houses, parks, the animal-themed path, or local history. Younger children may enjoy the yard and parks, but the indoor museum and guided tour require calm movement with an adult.
- Seasonal notes
- For a normal self-guided family visit, this is a seasonal destination from May to September. Group tours can also be booked in other seasons, but in winter the visit should not be planned without a separate arrangement with the museum.
- Weather notes
- The destination combines indoor and outdoor parts. The museum gives shelter from rain, but the tour and the family-relevant yard, parks, and Knusbacka involve moving outdoors. Rain, cold, or wind can shorten the visit, especially with a stroller.
