Kaisaniemi Botanic Garden gives families a calm nature stop close to the city centre. The outdoor garden is free and open daily, while the greenhouses let children explore plants from different climate zones even on rainy or cold days. The garden also has a sensory garden, places for snacks, and Luomus plant collections that work well for an unhurried visit with children.

- Accessibility
- Luomus states that the outdoor garden and greenhouses can be used accessibly, but Café Viola is not accessible. The greenhouse building has barrier-free access, an accessible toilet, and a changing room. Prams are allowed, but narrow corridors and doorways can be difficult, especially for double prams.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- Plants must not be touched, and the collections include plants that can be toxic or cause skin irritation. Some greenhouse corridors are narrow.
- Opening-hours notes
- The outdoor garden is open daily 9:00-20:00, but it closes during stormy weather. The greenhouses are closed on Mondays, open Tue-Wed 10:00-17:00 and Thu-Sun 11:00-18:00. Ticket sales end 30 minutes before closing.
- Booking notes
- A normal self-guided visit does not require booking. Greenhouse tickets can be bought in advance through the Luomus webshop.
- Price notes
- The outdoor garden is free. Greenhouse tickets are paid: ticket desk adult EUR 12, reduced EUR 9, and student or age 5-18 EUR 6; online prices are lower. Children under 5 are free, excluding group conditions.
- Age notes
- Best for children who can move calmly and explore plants by looking.
- Seasonal notes
- The outdoor garden and greenhouses make this a year-round destination, but plants, outdoor conditions, and greenhouse exceptions vary.
- Weather notes
- The greenhouses are a good rainy- and cold-day addition, but storms can close the outdoor garden.
