Accessibility
Korkeasaari's accessibility information describes an accessible entrance building and mostly accessible or nearly accessible areas, but the island also has hills and steep ascents. Almost all roads are wide and paved, and animals can also be viewed without using stairs. Guide and assistance dogs cannot enter the zoo because Korkeasaari is a quarantine area. All toilets have a childcare room.

Practical notes
The new Paanu entrance building brings ticket sales, the zoo shop, and Bistro Bron together at Mischan ja Maschan aukio 1. The island can be reached on foot or by bike via bridges from Mustikkamaa, Nihti, or Laajasalo; tram 13 stops within walking distance at Nihti, and bus 16 runs from Railway Square to Mustikkamaa until 10.8.2026. During the summer season, limited small strollers for one child may be available at Korkeasaari, but they cannot be reserved in advance and may run out on busy days. Bring your own stroller if your child needs one. The island has water refill points and microwaves for warming baby food in picnic areas and restaurants.
Opening-hours notes
Korkeasaari is open year-round. From June to August, the zoo is open daily 10:00-20:00, in May and September usually 10:00-18:00, and in most winter months 10:00-16:00. Ticket sales end one hour before closing, and exception days or events can change the hours.
Booking notes
A normal day visit usually does not require a timed booking, but advance tickets may be available online. Groups and special programmes follow separate rules.
Price notes
Korkeasaari's price list valid until 1.9.2026 lists day tickets bought at the gate as EUR 29 for adults and EUR 20 for children aged 4-17. Advance online tickets cost EUR 26 for adults and EUR 18 for children. In the summer season from June to August, evening tickets are also available at the gate from 16:00; they cost EUR 19 for adults and EUR 13 for children. Children under 4 enter free.
Age notes
Suitable for many child ages. For younger children the visit can be long, so breaks, prams, and route planning matter.
Seasonal notes
The visit feels different by season: in summer it can be a longer outdoor day, while in winter weather and daylight matter more.
Weather notes
Most of the visit is outdoors. Rain, wind, and winter conditions can make routes harder, even though break and indoor spaces are available.
