Kuusijärvi is a versatile nature and recreation area in eastern Vantaa where families can swim, play, walk, grill, and use the café-restaurant or sauna services. In summer, Kuusijärvi is Vantaa's most popular swimming beach: the beach has a sandy lakebed, grass area, piers, and a marked shallow area for children. At other times, the area works as an outdoor destination with lit routes, winter ski tracks, a playground, outdoor gyms, ball courts, and a connection toward Sipoonkorpi via the Sudentassu bridge.

Accessibility
The area is mostly accessible. One of the new smoke saunas and the new smoke-sauna changing room are accessible, and a 300 m accessible path leads to the campfire site from the beach smoke-sauna direction. Access on nature routes, the beach, and winter surfaces can still vary, so check details in advance if accessibility affects your visit.

Plan your visit

Practical notes
The children's area is between the pier and the shore, where the water is no more than about 1 m deep. At the end of the piers, the water is about 2.5 m deep on average, so swimming needs constant supervision. On hot summer days, the beach and parking can be crowded. Bring snacks, water, and weather-appropriate gear for the outdoor routes.
Opening-hours notes
The outdoor area is open daily around the clock. Lifeguards are on the beach 3.6.-9.8.2026 daily 10.00-20.00, but there are no lifeguards on 19.6.-21.6.2026. The café-restaurant is open Mon-Sun 9-21; sauna ticket sales end at 20.00 and sauna time is 2 h.
Booking notes
A normal outdoor or beach visit does not require booking. Public sauna turns do not need and cannot take advance reservations; sauna wristbands are sold in the main building, and on busy days visitors may need to wait for sauna space.
Price notes
The beach and recreation area are free. The café-restaurant and saunas cost extra. The electric sauna costs EUR 7.50 for adults and EUR 5.00 for children aged 7-17; the smoke sauna costs EUR 16.00 for adults and EUR 8.00 for children aged 7-17.
Age notes
Suitable for many child ages with constant adult supervision. For small children, the strongest parts are the playground, grass area, and marked shallow beach area. Older children can also enjoy short outdoor routes, ball-game areas, and winter ski or sledding moments depending on conditions.
Seasonal notes
Kuusijärvi works year-round in different ways: in summer the focus is the beach and swimming, from September to May winter swimming, and in winter the routes may serve as ski tracks. Summer 2026 season passes are not sold for the electric saunas because of renovation work in the main building's electric-sauna and washroom facilities.
Weather notes
A beach day works best in warm and calm weather. In rain, thunder, strong wind, or blue-green algae conditions, reconsider swimming. In winter, route, ski-track, ice, and campfire use depends on weather, maintenance, and forest-fire warnings.
