The Kindergarten Museum introduces more than 130 years of Finnish kindergarten work from a child's perspective. In Ebeneser House, designed by Wivi Lönn, families can explore old toys, games, pedagogical materials, yard games, and everyday kindergarten life. Some collection objects are shown in display cases, but duplicate toys and tools can be touched and played with, making the visit practical even with small children and their adult.

- Accessibility
- The official sources did not provide detailed accessibility information, and Helsinki Service Map lists the accessibility viewpoints as unknown. Strollers may not be brought indoors and are left in the yard's stroller shed. If you need step-free access, lift details, or an accessible toilet, check directly with the museum before going.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- Children under 16 visit the museum with their own adult. For fire safety, strollers are left in the green stroller shed in the yard and are not brought indoors. The small museum cafe sells juice, coffee, and small snacks, and own snacks may be eaten in the cafe space, which has dishes, a microwave, and a high chair.
- Opening-hours notes
- The museum is open to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12-19. Last entry is at 18.30, and it is worth starting to wrap up the visit at 18.45. The museum has maintenance breaks in summer and around New Year, so check current opening details on the home page before going.
- Booking notes
- Booking is not needed for the normal public opening days. Families can reserve a private visit outside public opening hours, and group visits are agreed separately with the museum.
- Price notes
- Under-18s enter free of charge. Standard adult admission is 10 euros, students and pensioners 6 euros, and the Museum Card is accepted. A private family visit costs 30 euros plus entrance fees.
- Age notes
- Especially good as a first museum for children around 1-8 because the visit includes exploring and playing with an adult. School-age children may get more from it if they are interested in old toys, daycare memories, Froebel's blocks, or early education history.
- Seasonal notes
- The family page describes public opening from August to June, and Service Map mentions an exhibition break in July. The museum works for much of the year, but summer and New Year maintenance breaks should be checked.
- Weather notes
- A good indoor option for rainy and cold days when the museum is open. In very hot weather, consider the conditions inside the old building, and note that strollers stay in the yard's stroller shed in all weather.
