Multipurpose Centre Lumo and Lumo Library are in Korso, right next to Korso railway station. For families, a normal library visit works as a free indoor outing: the first floor has books and other materials plus a story and game room, while the second floor has space for studying and working. Lumo Library also lends sports and game equipment, hosts events, and offers digital support, exhibitions, Wi-Fi, and customer computers. The same multipurpose centre also has spaces for culture, learning, sports, and arts, including Lumo Hall and the gym.

- Accessibility
- There is a pick-up and drop-off area near the entrance and a smooth, sufficiently wide, lit route to the entrance. However, the route and entrance include two consecutive steps and a ramp under 6 m long, with handrails on one side. The entrance door opens with a motion sensor, but the thresholds are over 2 cm. Customer service is on the entrance floor, and there is an accessible toilet on the same floor.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- The first floor has the collections plus a story and game room. The second floor has work space, two bookable meeting rooms, and a workshop where you can reserve a sewing machine, serger, 3D printer, or media workstation. Check Multipurpose Centre Lumo's programme, performances, courses, and hobby groups separately, because they are often date-specific or require booking.
- Opening-hours notes
- General opening hours are Mon-Thu 8.00-20.00, Fri 8.00-16.00, Sat 9.00-16.00, and Sun closed. Summer hours from 1.6.-16.8.2026 are Mon and Thu 13.00-20.00, Tue-Wed and Fri 9.00-16.00, and Sat-Sun closed. Around Midsummer, the library is closed 19.6.-21.6.2026.
- Booking notes
- A normal library visit does not require booking. Meeting rooms, workshop devices, events, courses, Lumo Hall performances, and multipurpose-centre spaces may require a reservation, library card, registration, or ticket.
- Price notes
- A normal library visit, borrowing, Wi-Fi, customer computers, and sports and game equipment loans are free. Printing, copying, bookable rooms, workshop devices, performances, courses, exhibition spaces, or private and business use may cost extra.
- Age notes
- Suitable for all ages for reading, borrowing, the story and game room, a calm break, and events. The workshop, media workstation, study and work areas, sports and game equipment, and some of Lumo's cultural services are likely to interest school-age children and young people most.
- Seasonal notes
- The library operates year-round, but summer opening hours are more limited than usual. Events, performances, hobbies, workshops, and bookable-space availability vary by programme and season.
- Weather notes
- A good indoor option for rain, cold, or windy weather. It also works as a cooling and reading break in Korso on hot days.
