Maunula nature trail loops through the varied nature of Maunula Park in Central Park. Along the route, families can walk through forest, hazel groves, creek edges and cultural landscape, following information boards themed around natural diversity and the cycle of life. The trail also passes through Maunula Urn Cemetery, where visitors should move quietly and not picnic. A more suitable picnic spot is by Haaganpuro creek near the allotment gardens.

- Accessibility
- The nature trail includes difficult sections, steep hills, uneven surfaces and narrow points. It is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers, but some difficult sections can be bypassed using easier outdoor routes. The parking area has no marked accessible parking spaces. Near the hiking lodge there is a toilet in a separate building.

- Practical notes
- The trail starts near Maunula hiking lodge at Metsäläntie 9. The route is marked with fir-cone signs on trees, poles and signposts, and it crosses other outdoor routes in several places. There are parking spaces for about ten cars in front of Maunula hiking lodge. The allotment gardens are private property, although visitors may walk along the paths between them.
- Opening-hours notes
- The nature trail does not have ordinary indoor-style opening hours. Maunula hiking lodge cafe and toilets are listed as open from Wednesday to Sunday 11-18, and the toilet is available when the lodge is open.
- Booking notes
- A self-guided visit to the nature trail does not require booking.
- Price notes
- Walking the nature trail is free. Cafe purchases at the hiking lodge cost extra.
- Age notes
- Best for preschool and school-age children who can manage a roughly 3.3-kilometre forest route. With toddlers, the trail can be difficult without a carrier.
- Seasonal notes
- The route works best in snow-free and dry conditions. The nature trail is not maintained in winter, and snow, ice or wet ground can make steep and uneven sections difficult.
- Weather notes
- Dry weather is best for this forest nature trail. In rain, rocks, roots, crushed-stone surfaces and steep hills can be slippery or harder to cross.
