Museo Leikki is an indoor museum in Tapiola, Espoo, where families can explore the history of play, toys, and childhood. The museum currently has three exhibitions: “Laboratory of Play” takes visitors on a journey through childhood phenomena. “Half Acre of History – The Legacy of Winnie-the-Pooh” is a mini-exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the beloved character. “Time Travel Odyssey 1950” is a special exhibition built around a time-travel theme, where visitors can learn about childhoods of different eras and even try to operate a time machine. In June, for Pride Month, rainbow-colored unicorns have to be found in the museum.

Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- When there is no special programme, Museo Leikki usually offers a short all-ages public guided tour on Wednesdays at 17:30; check the current programme before planning around it. Museum cafe Hyrrä is in the same building, and the playground in WeeGee's park is close by. Outdoor shoes are not allowed in the exhibition area. The lobby has free lockable lockers, coat racks, and storage space for backpacks.
- Opening-hours notes
- The official page lists normal opening as closed Monday, Tue 12:00-17:00, Wed-Thu 11:00-19:00, Fri 09:00-19:00, and Sat-Sun 10:00-17:00. Ticket sales end 30 minutes before closing; check exceptions such as May Day, Midsummer, and the summer season before going.
- Booking notes
- A normal museum visit does not require booking. The regular public programme does not require separate registration unless the programme description says otherwise. Private guided tours, groups, and birthday parties are booked separately following the museum's instructions.
- Price notes
- Adult admission is EUR 15. Children aged 2-17 cost EUR 5, and children under 2 enter free. The Museum Card is accepted.
- Age notes
- Works especially well for toddlers, preschoolers, and primary-school children. Children under school age visit with someone over 15 and under a guardian's responsibility.
- Seasonal notes
- As an indoor museum, Leikki works year-round, but holiday periods and exhibition changes can affect opening hours.
- Weather notes
- A good option for rainy, cold, and windy days because the museum visit itself is indoors.
