- Accessibility
- The official page says the accessible entrance is on the courtyard side at Arkadiankatu 7. The museum has a lift and an accessible toilet, and strollers can be taken into the exhibitions. The winter corner of the Finnish Nature exhibition is the exception to an otherwise mobility-accessible museum.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- The museum is easy to combine with Kamppi, Oodi, or another city-centre stop. Own snacks can be eaten in the open seating area on the fourth floor or outside in the museum courtyard. Eating is not allowed in the exhibition areas.
- Opening-hours notes
- Official opening hours: Mon closed, Tue–Fri 10:00–17:00, Sat 10:00–18:00, and Sun 10:00–16:00. Ticket sales end 30 minutes before closing. In summer, 1.6.–9.8.2026, the museum is open daily 10:00–17:00. Check exceptional hours before going.
- Booking notes
- For a normal family visit, tickets can be bought from the webshop or at the museum ticket desk. Groups and guided tours are handled separately.
- Price notes
- Paid museum. The official page lists ticket-desk prices as adults €21, reduced price €14, and students or children aged 5–18 €7. Children under 5 enter free, excluding some group cases. Webshop prices may be slightly lower.
- Age notes
- Suitable for many ages, but strongest for children around 4–12 who can move from one exhibition to another. Younger children may still enjoy the animals, dinosaurs, and large halls during a shorter visit.
- Seasonal notes
- Works year-round. During the summer season, the museum is also open on Mondays.
- Weather notes
- A good rainy-day, cold-day, and windy-day option because the visit is indoors.
