Helsingin Suunnistajat's STARTTI routes are made for families and people new to orienteering. The Lauttasaari route runs in Myllykallio and has five controls, plus a start and finish. Its short distance also works well for visiting individual controls or doing only part of the route.

Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- The start and finish are behind Lauttasaari Church. Download the free map from the official STARTTI routes page to print or use on a phone. There is a campfire site near the finish.
- Opening-hours notes
- The 2026 controls remain in place until the end of the year. The route is self-guided and has no separate staffed opening hours.
- Booking notes
- No booking is needed. You can follow the route at your own pace while the controls are in place.
- Price notes
- The route and map are free.
- Age notes
- The route is designed for families and people new to orienteering. Its short length suits preschool and school-age children with an adult, but keep the rocky sections and elevation changes in mind.
- Seasonal notes
- This is a 2026 seasonal route, not a permanent nature trail. Check the official page before going to make sure the controls are still in place.
- Weather notes
- The route is outdoors, and rocky sections can be slippery in rain, snow or ice.
