- Accessibility
- The official page says the accessible entrance to Cable Factory’s Glass Courtyard is from the Kaapeliaukio side. The museum is on the second floor and can be reached by lift. Exhibition galleries are accessible for the most part, but not all ramps are suitable for every wheelchair. There is an accessible toilet in the museum lobby, and personal assistants and carers of visitors with disabilities enter free.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- Entrance is through Cable Factory’s Glass Courtyard and the Tehtaanmyymälä shop. The same museum cluster also includes the Hotel and Restaurant Museum and the Finnish Museum of Photography, so the adult Cable Museums combination ticket may be useful if you visit more than one museum. Some exhibition areas may occasionally be closed for workshops or other activities.
- Opening-hours notes
- Official opening hours: Tue–Fri 11:00–19:00, Sat–Sun 11:00–18:00, and Monday closed. Ticket sales end 30 minutes before closing. Check exceptional opening hours before going.
- Booking notes
- Booking is usually not needed for a normal museum visit. Tickets can be bought at the Glass Courtyard information desk or online in advance. Workshops, guided tours, and birthday visits are booked separately.
- Price notes
- Prices vary by age and timing. The official page lists tickets as standard ticket €16, reduced ticket €8, children aged 5–17 €6, and children under 5 free. The adult combination ticket for the Cable Museums is €21. Admission is free on the last Wednesday of each month from 16:00 to 19:00.
- Age notes
- Works best for children around 4–12 who enjoy role play, trying things out, or performing. A calmer time may suit children who are less comfortable with noise or performance play.
- Seasonal notes
- Works year-round.
- Weather notes
- A good rainy-day and cold-day option because the visit is indoors. Getting into Cable Factory may still include a short outdoor approach depending on your route.
