Tikankierros is a 3 km nature trail in Espoo Central Park, crossing typical Central Park forest terrain. Along the route, families find rugged rocks, lush hollows, duckboards in wet sections, two meadows classified as traditional landscapes, and nearby glacial potholes. It suits families who want a short but real forest walk inside the built-up city.

- Accessibility
- According to the city, the route follows old forest paths and is challenging in parts. Wetter sections have duckboards, and the nature trail is not accessible. With a stroller, choose wider Central Park outdoor routes rather than the full Tikankierros trail.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- The route is signposted and has five information boards. It intersects outdoor routes in several places, so you can walk only part of it. The parking area and nearest bus stops, Soliseva and Riimukallio, are about 700 m from the start of the trail.
- Opening-hours notes
- The nature trail has no set opening hours. Espoo nature trails are not maintained in winter and do not have waste management. Open fires and camping are not allowed on nature trails.
- Booking notes
- A self-guided visit does not require booking.
- Price notes
- Walking the nature trail is free.
- Age notes
- Works best for children around 5-12 who can walk on a varied forest trail. With younger children, walk only part of the route and leave time for a snack stop.
- Seasonal notes
- Best during snow-free times. In winter, the route is not maintained, and duckboards, roots, and rocks can be slippery.
- Weather notes
- Best in dry weather. Wet duckboards and rocks can be slippery, and in strong wind it is worth reconsidering forest routes carefully.
