Uutela Forest Nature Trail loops through the Uutela forest nature reserve. The route is marked with orange cone symbols, and information boards along the trail describe the Uutela forest and its species. Families can join the route from several directions, including from Uutelantie or near the Nuottaniemi cooking shelter.

- Accessibility
- The parking area has no marked accessible parking spaces, and the distance from parking to the nature trail is about 500 metres. The circular route is hard-surfaced but partly uneven, with fine crushed rock. It is suitable with reservations for wheelchairs and strollers if the pusher has strength for steep hills. The largest climb is about 8 metres and the steepest ascent is 16 percent.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- The official visiting address is Uutelantie 3. Uutela also has a separate Herp trail in Särkkäniemi, so check the map for the start point that matches your plan. Nuottaniemi and Niemenpaja cooking shelters are near the Forest Nature Trail; if using them, bring your own firewood or charcoal.
- Opening-hours notes
- The nature trail does not have ordinary indoor-style opening hours. The route has no winter maintenance and no lighting.
- Booking notes
- A self-guided visit to the nature trail does not require booking.
- Price notes
- Walking the nature trail is free.
- Age notes
- Best for children who can manage a roughly 2-kilometre forest route with hills. With younger children, the route may work with a stroller only with reservations or with a carrier.
- Seasonal notes
- The route works best in snow-free and dry conditions. In winter, snow and ice can make the fine-crushed-rock but hilly route harder, and the route is not maintained in winter.
- Weather notes
- Dry weather is best for this forest nature trail. In rain or freezing conditions, uneven sections and hills can be slippery or harder to cross.
