Vantaa Art Museum Artsi is a free contemporary art museum in Myyrmäkitalo, next to Myyrmäki train station. Artsi presents changing exhibitions and the City of Vantaa's art collections; since 2016, its focus has included street art, graffiti, and performance art. The current exhibition is Empathy, on view 15.4.-18.10.2026. It looks at empathy as a feeling, a skill, and a social question, and includes a Future School workshop space where visitors can imagine a positive future Vantaa. For families, Artsi works as a calm, free indoor stop where children and adults can look at artworks and talk about colors, spaces, materials, and the ideas contemporary art brings up.

- Accessibility
- Artsi has step-free access through the Myyrmäki House main entrance and lobby, and exhibition visits do not require using the lift. On Fridays after 16:00 and on Sundays, access is through Artsi's own Paalutori door, which does not open automatically. The accessible toilet door has a 3 cm threshold, and the nearest accessible parking spaces are in Myyrmanni's parking garage near the lifts.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- Exhibitions change, so check what is on view and what the theme is before going. In the Empathy exhibition, some content deals with power, media, and digital reality; with children, the visit works best as a calm looking-and-talking stop. Inside the Empathy exhibition, the Future School workshop area gives families a place to pause and imagine what a positive future Vantaa could look like. For guided workshops, public tours, street-art walks, and participatory performances, check the current dates on the museum website or Vantaa event calendar. Artsi's homepage warns about train-service exceptions on the way to Artsi from 3.5. to 9.8.2026; check your route with HSL.
- Opening-hours notes
- During exhibitions, Artsi is open Tue-Wed 11-18, Thu 13-20, and Fri-Sun 11-16; Mon closed. Closed 19.6.-21.6.2026 and during exhibition change 19.10.-17.11.2026. Check exceptions before going.
- Booking notes
- Booking is not needed for a normal exhibition visit. Group guided tours are booked separately, and registration details for public guided tours, workshops, and participatory performances should be checked on the museum website or Vantaa event calendar.
- Price notes
- Entry to Artsi exhibitions is free. A normal exhibition visit is free, but some workshops, drawing evenings, and booked guided tours may have a fee.
- Age notes
- Best for children and young people around 5-14 who can look at contemporary art with an adult. Younger children can still manage a short visit focused on colors, shapes, and materials, but exhibition themes change and some content can be abstract or conceptual.
- Seasonal notes
- The museum works year-round, but there can be closure periods between exhibitions. The current Empathy exhibition is on view 15.4.-18.10.2026.
- Weather notes
- A good rainy-day, windy-day, and cold-day option because the exhibition visit is indoors.
