Vetokannas beach is a City of Vantaa public beach and winter swimming spot in Kaivoksela, western Vantaa. In summer, families can use the sandy beach, three grass areas, changing rooms, toilets, showers, and summer outdoor shower. There is also a beach-volley court and outdoor exercise equipment near the beach, so a visit can combine swimming, beach play, and other movement.

- Accessibility
- The beach has several route and facility limits. The parking area has 1 accessible parking space under 50 m from the beach and drop-off under 50 m from the beach, but the route is uneven, has a steep hill, and includes at least 4 steps. The toilet marked accessible does not meet all requirements, and the changing rooms have a high threshold and limited space.

- Practical notes
- At Vetokannas, the water gets deep suddenly, and the shallow-water area is marked in the lake with a lane rope. Supervise children's swimming constantly even during lifeguard hours, and keep small children in the marked shallow area. Staffing can affect lifeguard and changing-room hours, so check the outdoor exercise map notice before going.
- Opening-hours notes
- Lifeguards are on the beach 3.6.-9.8.2026 Mon-Sun 11.00-19.00. Changing rooms and indoor toilets are open 3.6.-9.8.2026 daily 11.00-19.00, and changing-room doors close about 15 min before the facility time ends. Midsummer and staffing changes can cause exceptions, so check current information before going.
- Booking notes
- A normal beach visit does not require booking. Access to the warm changing-room and toilet facilities during the winter swimming season requires a key and season-specific use fee from the Myyrmäki Swimming Hall checkout. The key may not be handed to another user.
- Price notes
- A normal beach visit is free. For the 1.9.-15.5. winter swimming season, the key to the warm service building costs 31 EUR and the use fee is 78 EUR / winter swimming season. The key and use fee are handled at Myyrmäki Swimming Hall.
- Age notes
- Suitable for different child ages only with close adult supervision. For small children, the safest spot is the shallow area marked with the lane rope. Older children may also enjoy beach volley, grass areas, and outdoor exercise equipment, but the suddenly deepening beach still requires caution.
- Seasonal notes
- The supervised summer beach season is 3.6.-9.8.2026. The winter swimming season and warm changing-room use season is 1.9.-15.5., with access Mon-Sun 6-22 only with paid use rights.
- Weather notes
- A summer visit works best in warm and calm weather. Avoid swimming during thunder, strong wind, blue-green algae conditions, or a poor water-quality notice. Winter swimming suits only those used to it and should be supervised by an adult.
