Malmitalo's Helsinki Day brings summer city programming to Ala-Malmi Square from afternoon into evening. The easiest parts for families to use are the community art by young summer workers from Malmi youth services, the Malmi parish activity point and Tsuumi Dance Theatre's low-threshold city dance lesson, where visitors learn bugg. In the evening, Laineen Kasperi and F perform on the container stage, so the later part is more of a general concert evening than a children-specific programme.

- Accessibility
- The Helsinki Day page states that the event has wheelchair-accessible entry and an accessible toilet. Malmitalo's main entrance and lobby are accessible, indoor public areas can be used by wheelchair users and the second floor is reachable by lift. Because the programme is mainly on the square and around the container stage, crowding, music volume, weather and exact activity locations may affect movement with prams or mobility aids.

- Practical notes
- The programme takes place on Ala-Malmi Square and the square's container stage beside Malmitalo. Families can drop in for only part of the day, and the afternoon community art and dance teaching may be the most natural time to visit with children. The general Malmi Summer of Events notice says changes are possible and that programmes move indoors to Malmitalo in heavy rain.
- Schedule notes
- The programme is on Friday 12.6.2026 from 14.30 to 20.00. Schedule: community art for all ages 14.30-18.30, Malmi parish activity point 16.00-19.00, City Dance 16.00-16.45, Laineen Kasperi 17.00-18.00 and F 19.00-20.00.
- Booking notes
- Entry is free, and no advance registration or seat booking is listed.
- Age notes
- The source marks the community art, parish activity point and city dance lesson as suitable for all ages. The whole event is not aimed only at children, though: the evening concerts best suit older children and teenagers who enjoy rap, R&B, an urban festival setting and crowds.
