The Saturday main event of Helsinki Samba Carnaval brings samba, capoeira, costumes and the parade to Senate Square. The late-morning and early-afternoon stage programme includes the Lavagem do Carnaval ceremony, a children's Pomppupallo performance, capoeira, a Santa Claus photo point, a samba-instrument introduction and dance groups. The carnival parade starts at 15:00 from Senate Square and follows Unioninkatu, Pohjoisesplanadi, Mannerheimintie and Aleksanterinkatu, with samba schools and other visual dance groups taking part.

- Accessibility
- The organiser says the event locations are made as accessible as possible, easy to reach by public transport and light-traffic routes, and that wheelchair viewing places are reserved along the parade route. Exact event-specific toilet, pram and viewing-area guidance was not confirmed. Crowds, the route, street paving, temporary structures, weather and sound volume may affect movement.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- The event is outdoors at Senate Square and along city-centre streets, so expect crowds, loud music, long standing time, weather exposure and the need to choose a viewing spot early.
- Schedule notes
- On Saturday 13.6.2026, the Senate Square stage programme runs from 11:00 to 15:00. The parade starts at 15:00, and the programme page lists the parade window as 15:00-17:30. The food court serves from 11:00 to 20:00.
- Booking notes
- No advance registration or ticket booking is mentioned for the Senate Square event or for watching the parade.
- Price notes
- The Senate Square event and parade are free. Paid food is available at the Senate Square food court.
- Age notes
- This is an open city carnival for everyone, not a programme aimed only at children. The children's performance, samba-instrument introduction, parade colours and dance may interest children of many ages, but the crowd, long outdoor visit and strong rhythmic music may be demanding for toddlers or sound-sensitive children.
