On Mondays at Kauklahti Library, children can read aloud to a reading dog. Osku, Nekku and Pätkis, or Lloyd, calmly listen to children practising reading. Reading with an animal lets children practise at their own pace in a safe setting, without having their mistakes corrected.

Accessibility
The route to the library entrance is level, wide and lit, with a short ramp beside the steps. The entrance door is heavy and the thresholds are over 2 cm high. A toilet marked as accessible is available only during staffed hours, but it lacks sufficient wheelchair space and adequate grab rails.
