Vehkalanmäki is a former soil-deposit area where habitat management work has been carried out since 2020. The work has helped the area become a favourable habitat for many plant and insect species that need meadows and sunny environments. The walk explores Vehkalanmäki's meadow nature, where the plant species have become more diverse and at least 45 butterfly species live.

Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- The starting point is the Petikko outdoor recreation area's parking lot on Tallimäentie. Turn onto the narrow Tallimäentie from Tiilitie. Leave dogs at home for the outing.
- Age notes
- The outing is also suitable for school-age children. It works best for children interested in plants, insects and a calm guided outdoor walk with their own adult.
