The Nutcracker and the Mouse King begins in wintry Porvoo and takes Klaara into a fairy tale on Christmas night. Tchaikovsky’s music, sets, dance and costumes lead through a mouse army, snowy scenes and a magic lantern to the Nutcracker’s story. It is a longer seated ballet on the Main Stage.

- The accessible entrance is on the Töölönlahti bay side. Main Stage wheelchair spaces are in boxes on the first and second balconies, reachable by lift; the Stalls and third balcony require stairs. Accessible toilets are available in the Opera House foyers.

- For Main Stage performances, visitors can use either the Mannerheimintie main entrance or Oopperankuja on the Töölönlahti bay side. Arrive in good time: latecomers are admitted to the auditorium only at the interval. Cloakrooms, toilets and Opera Restaurant service counters are in the foyers.
- Schedule notes
- Allow about 2 hours 20 minutes for the performance, including one 35-minute interval.
- Booking notes
- A ticket is required. Choose seats through the Opera and Ballet ticket sales before going.
- Price notes
- The production price range is EUR 31–130. Price depends on the seat, performance date and demand; ages 20 and under receive a 40–50% discount on selected seats.
- Age notes
- The Main Stage minimum age is 5. Every visitor needs their own ticket, and children under 5 are not admitted to Main Stage performances.
