Families can also see the horses and riders outside the Military Museum's Manege and Vesikko and meet them in front of the Manege. At the Artillery Manege, children can colour horse pictures or make a cardboard horse, while short museum talks explore the role of horses in the Winter and Continuation Wars.

Accessibility
The outdoor routes in Suomenlinna include cobblestones and elevation changes. The maneges are reached via uneven, steep cobblestone ramps, with thresholds and heavy doors. Accessibility along the event route depends on which programme points a family visits.

Plan your visit

Practical notes
The programme is spread across Suomenlinna's parade ground, the Military Museum's Manege and Artillery Manege, and the area outside Vesikko. The HSL ferry runs from Market Square to Iso Mustasaari; the walk from the main pier is about 800 m to the maneges and about 1 km to Vesikko.
Schedule notes
The Military Museum event day runs from 11:00 to 18:00. The riding display starts at the parade ground at 12:00, the horses and riders visit the Manege and Vesikko frontage from about 12:30, and they can be met outside the Manege at 14:00. The approximately 15-minute talks start at 13:30 in Finnish and 14:30 in English. The craft point runs during the event day, but exact hours are not listed. The horse-programme times after 12:30 are approximate, and the outdoor programme is weather-dependent.
Booking notes
No separate event registration is listed. Museum tickets can be bought online in advance or at the museum. The Suomenlinna calendar lists a maximum of 25 participants but does not say which programme point it applies to.
Price notes
The official event page lists a EUR 0–10 price range. The outdoor riding display and craft point are not priced separately, so it has not been confirmed that they are free. The Military Museum talks are included in museum admission: visitors under 18 enter free, adult admission is EUR 10, and the student (18+) and pensioner ticket is EUR 5. Museum Card and Helsinki Card holders enter free. Ferry travel is paid separately.
Age notes
The Military Museum describes the day's programme as suitable for the whole family. Watching the horses, colouring and crafts can also appeal to younger children, while the talks about horses in wartime are best suited to school-age children with an adult.
