Seurasaari Midsummer Bonfires brings families to Seurasaari on Midsummer Eve for a traditional Finnish celebration. The children's programme includes decorating and raising the maypole, a Finnish-language Midsummer fairy tale, traditional play, a children's polonaise, a children's bonfire, a children's magic path and Puppet Theater Pienpaja's Nalle Naavatassu's Summer show. The evening also includes folk music, folk dance, horse carriage rides, Midsummer dancing and several bonfires if weather and wildfire warnings allow.

- Accessibility
- The terrain varies, but the organiser says most of the area is fairly accessible by wheelchair. The Festival Ground, where most of the programme takes place, is accessible. Bonfire Shore is not wheelchair accessible, but bonfires can be viewed from elsewhere, and the children's bonfire has an accessible route. Strollers are allowed, but loaner strollers are not available.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- Seurasaari island closes to the public at 12:00 on Midsummer Eve, and after that entry is only with an event ticket. The event is outdoors and continues late into the night; for families with children, the early-evening children's programme may be the most practical visit window. Dress for the weather and prepare for walking, crowds and a potentially cool evening.
- Schedule notes
- MyHelsinki lists the main event at 17:00-01:00. The organiser's children's programme starts at 16:15 with maypole decorating and a Midsummer fairy tale. The children's polonaise is at 19:10 and the children's bonfire is lit at 19:40 if no wildfire warning is in effect.
- Booking notes
- Tickets are sold through Tiketti. Online ticket sales end on Midsummer Eve 19.6.2026 at 22:00.
- Price notes
- An adult ticket costs EUR 27.50. The order fee is EUR 1.50 per order. Children under 12 enter free when accompanied by an adult. Horse carriage rides and pony rides cost an additional EUR 7 per person.
- Age notes
- The event suits families broadly, but the children's programme is mostly in Finnish and is easiest for preschool and school-age children to follow. The evening continues late, so families with young children may want to plan an early departure.
