Skeittikontti opening day brings a free skateboarding day to Eläintarha Skatepark. Skeittikontti is a summer project run by HELride Collective and supported by the City of Helsinki, making it easy to try skateboarding. Visitors can borrow a board and helmet against a deposit, and Skeittikontti instructors can give skateboarding tips. The day is especially suitable for school-age children and young people, but families can also come to watch and try the sport together.

Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- Bring relaxed clothing, flat-soled shoes and a water bottle. You do not need your own board, but loan gear is handed out against a deposit. The skatepark is outdoors, so weather and wet surfaces may affect what can be done.
- Schedule notes
- Opening day is Friday 5.6.2026. In June, Skeittikontti is open on weekdays from 13:00-21:00. If you are going for a specific opening-day workshop, contest or music item, check Skeittikontti's own channels before leaving.
- Booking notes
- No advance registration is needed. Arrive during the event window.
- Price notes
- The event is free. A board and helmet can be borrowed free of charge from Skeittikontti against a deposit.
- Age notes
- Skeittikontti's open activity welcomes all ages. Active try-out skating is likely to suit school-age children and young people best; younger children need their own adult with them around the skatepark edge.
