Cetus Espoo and the City of Espoo offer free swimming lessons for children starting school in autumn 2026 who have not yet learned to swim. At Leppävaara swimming pool, children practise entering the children's pool, moving in water, blowing bubbles and exploring swimming equipment through stories and play. All sessions have the same content, and a guardian may book a child for up to two sessions.

- Practical notes
- Children need a towel and swimsuit; a burkini is also allowed. Own swimming goggles are recommended. The guardian is responsible for the child in the changing and shower rooms and escorts the child to the pool. The child must be able to take part in a group led by an instructor and be willing to enter the pool without the guardian.
- Schedule notes
- In Leppävaara, sessions run on 13.7.-30.7.2026, Monday to Thursday, at 12:30-13:00 and 18:00-18:30. The content is the same each time, and families choose a suitable available slot.
- Booking notes
- Advance registration through Cetus is required. Only two bookings per child are allowed. Cancel the booking if you cannot attend.
- Price notes
- The lesson is free. The guardian only pays the swimming pool entry fee if they want to swim during the lesson.
- Age notes
- Intended for children starting school in autumn 2026 who cannot yet swim.
