Algae researcher Sonja Repetti collects water samples with a plankton net from Lake Pentala before Flagellate collective's afternoon algae concert. Participants can try collecting algae themselves and also hear about shepherd music traditions. The short outdoor session works best for curious school-age children with an adult as part of a Pentala island outing.

- Accessibility
- The Pentala museum area is only partly accessible. The island can be reached from the archipelago boat using a movable ramp, but the museum area has sand paths, a gentle uphill route, high thresholds and stairs. Near the lake, weather, ground conditions and adult supervision matter.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- Pentala is an island destination, so check the archipelago boat timetable, return boat and weather before going. The session is connected to Lake Pentala and algae samples; the event page says the algae are not harmful to health.
- Schedule notes
- The event is on Saturday 4.7.2026 from 11:00 to 11:30. The afternoon algae concert at 13:00 is a separate programme.
- Booking notes
- No advance registration is listed.
- Price notes
- The event is free. The archipelago boat and cafe may cost separately.
- Age notes
- The event page does not give an age recommendation. The content is best for children who are interested in water, nature and exploring, and who can listen to a short researcher-led introduction with an adult.
