Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- The parade moves through city-centre streets, so families can watch from Senate Square or along the route. Expect crowds, street traffic, changeable weather and loud live instruments. Check the official page closer to the event for the route and any traffic arrangements.
- Schedule notes
- All three guard parades start from Senate Square at 12.20. No end time has been published; the 13.30 end in this listing is an estimate. Check the current route and schedule before you go.
- Booking notes
- Entry to the parades is free. No advance registration or ticket booking is needed.
- Age notes
- This is a public event for everyone, not a programme designed for children. The visual parade and live band may especially interest school-age children, but crowds, marching music and a long time standing outdoors can be demanding for toddlers or sound-sensitive children.
