In the Water Purification Workshop, families look at how water is cleaned and what materials are used in the process. Participants build a working water filter and see what the water looks like after filtering. The workshop also raises the useful question of whether filtering makes the water safe to drink.

- Accessibility
- The Museum of Technology's exhibition spaces are not fully accessible. The main entrance has a ramp, but the doorway has a 7 cm threshold. The old lift has a 68 cm doorway and may stop 1-5 cm off floor level. Check the route in advance if step-free access or stroller movement is important.
Plan your visit
- Practical notes
- The workshop lasts two hours and takes place as part of a museum visit. Arrive by the start time if you want to take part in the full workshop.
- Schedule notes
- This schedule covers the Saturday 27.6.2026 workshop from 12:00 to 14:00. Earlier May and June workshops have already passed.
- Price notes
- The workshop is included in museum admission. Museum tickets are 15 EUR for adults, 7 EUR for ages 7-17, free for ages 0-6, and 32 EUR as a family ticket. The Finnish Museum Card is accepted, and Thursdays are Pay What You Want days.
- Age notes
- Best for primary-school children and curious preschoolers with an adult. The workshop involves water and building a filter, so younger children need adult help.
