Vesikko Day celebrates submarine Vesikko's 53 years as a museum vessel. The programme takes place at Vesikko and in the Military Museum's other Suomenlinna exhibitions: guided content introduces Vesikko's story, Finland's submarine flotilla and conscript service in the Navy. Children and playful adults can visit face painting at the Artillery Manege and collect stamps in a sailor passport by completing tasks in the exhibitions.

- Suomenlinna has cobblestones, elevation changes and outdoor routes. The maneges are reached via uneven, steep cobblestone ramps, with thresholds and potentially heavy doors. Vesikko has no accessible entrance or exit, and inside there are metal stairs, high thresholds, a narrow corridor, dim lighting and low points. Vesikko is not suitable for strollers or wheeled mobility aids.

- The day is spread across the Military Museum's Manege, Artillery Manege and submarine Vesikko. The HSL ferry runs from Market Square to Iso Mustasaari; the walk from the main pier is about 800 m to the maneges and about 1 km to Vesikko. Strollers, large backpacks and bulky items are best left out of Vesikko's interior.
