Viaporin Tuoppi brings classic wooden sailing boats to the waters around Suomenlinna. Families can watch the race from Suomenlinna's shores and visit the Suomenlinna Yacht Club's event shore in Varvilahti. The course runs from Kruunuvuorenselkä via Katajanokka and the Särkkä strait, around Pihlajasaari and back to the start-and-finish area. This is an independent viewing outing, not organised children's programming.

- Accessibility
- Suomenlinna's routes include paving, gravel, sand, cobbles, hills and lateral slopes, and the weather affects getting around. A more accessible route can help with strollers and mobility aids, but a step-free route to the event shore has not been published.

- Practical notes
- The event shore is close to Suomenlinna's ferry and waterbus stops. The HSL ferry from Market Square takes about 15 minutes. Boat visibility, the race direction and when boats return to shore vary with the wind and race progress.
- Schedule notes
- The first class-start signal is at 09:50. Boats finish at different times; boats that have not finished by 17:00 are marked as retired. No exact best time for shore viewing has been published.
- Price notes
- The event is free. There is no entry fee to Suomenlinna, but a travel ticket is needed for the ferry or waterbus.
- Age notes
- This is not a children's programme, but it can suit children interested in boats, the sea and watching outdoors. Keep children close near the shoreline.
